Be A Better Christian (III John2)
"Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers".
Believers all around the world try to work at 'becoming a better Christian' but very few have fully come to the understanding of getting better at being a Christian. Those few are the ones with the Spirit of God.
Even though God's wish for us is that we prosper and be in health both in the spiritual and physical realms, some of us prosper better in only one aspect at the detriment of the other. Some Christians are noticeably blessed beyond doubt in the physical, some even envy them but when some of such Christians are tried either by God or the devil, we discover they are paperweight Christians like Peter who denied Jesus (Lk.22:56-57), they also do the same. These Christians fall into Category one.
The other set of Christians are what some refer to as the " Spiritual Christians
Some of these 'pay' close attention to the things of God, which is the ultimate, but this is sometimes at the detriment of their physical wellbeing i.e, emotional, career-wise, calling, vision and aspirations, set goals, character, etc.
As much as God wants us to flow with Him in our relationship with Him on a daily basis, He also wishes for us to bring others to the knowledge of Him through our daily living. Our lives must daily affect lives, this was what Jesus lived for. While on earth, Jesus was a blessing to many(Matt.14:20).
Even now, till His Kingdom will come, the very mention of His name works wonders. Some He had to preach to, while some loved Him for what He stood for.
Before we can become better Christians, we first need to be reconciled to God. When you know Him, others will come to know Him through you. This makes you watch your character as you know there are people looking up to you. Cultivate a meeting place with God daily and see your change come(Mark9:2).
